A dramatic-irony machine, and it runs well as long as the withholding stays interesting. Liam solving problems off-screen while Eira credits luck is the recurring pleasure, and the child softens what would otherwise be a chilly pairing. The concealment is the premise's one gamble: a secret this central has to stay interesting for the whole run.
